An exposition of the Rule of St. Francis, in various verse forms, principally décimas, composed by a Franciscan friar of the Mexican Province of San Diego, with three short religious poems appended. The principal poem is substantially identical in content with "El Perfecto Religioso Menor," in Miscellaneous (BANC MSS M-M 199), No. 24, where the title page bears the date "1760;" but Beristáin, in Biblioteca Hispanoamericana ... , Vol. IV, p. 100-101, mentions two Pardo verse Mss. on this subject, one of them printed in 1729. Possibly BANC MSS M-M 194 and BANC MSS M-M 199, No. 24, are later, revised versions of the same poem, or poems; alternatively, "1760" may be simply the date of transcription.
